Training

AdOpt group facilitators and their in-house supervisor attend the five consecutive days training together. The training is practical and experiential with participants taking turns as facilitators while their colleagues role-play adoptive parents.

The AdOpt manual is carefully covered session by session and the trainers use active and engaging training methods.  Each day, the participants practice delivering different elements of the AdOpt curriculum and they receive “real time” feedback from each other and from the trainers.  By the end of the week, they are ready to start their first group under consultation from the National Implementation Service.
